The Institute for Network Sciences and Cyberspace (INSC) of Tsinghua University leads the top-level subjectof “Cyberspace Security,” focusing on five key areas: foundations of cyberspace security, cryptography and applications, system security, network security, and application security. The goal of this discipline is to build a well-structured, world-class faculty team and train high-quality doctoral and master’s students.
INSC focuses on cultivating doctoral students to become high-level, internationalized specialists who are urgently needed by the nation. The master’s program emphasizes practical skills, aiming to develop advanced professionals for key industries.
In recent years, INSC graduate students have won the “Distinguished Paper Award” multiple times at top international cybersecurity conferences. One doctoral graduate’s dissertation was selected for the China Institute of Electronics Doctoral Dissertation Incentive Plan and won the ACM China Doctoral Dissertation Award. Several students have received the Microsoft Research Fellowship, Siebel Scholarship, Google PhD Fellowship, and first place in the ACM Student Research Competition (SRC) finals.
In cybersecurity competitions, “Blue Lotus” team of INSC has repeatedly advanced to the finals of the world’s top cybersecurity technology competition, DEF CON CTF, winning the runner-up, and has also won first place in the GeekPwn International Hackers’ Contest multiple times.
