Research Status

With the continuous expansion of cyberspace, how to fundamentally solve the deep integration of the Internet, mobile communication networks, and space networks from the architectural level has become a major research direction for the development of the next-generation Internet. In recent years, I have led my team to achieve key research results in the fields of Integrated Space-Terrestrial Network, future mobile Internet, and future mobile Internet applications, including:

1. Research on the architecture of the Integrated Space-Terrestrial Network: In terms of networking architecture, I proposed the overall scheme of the future Integrated Space-Terrestrial Network architecture based on "dual backbones of space network and terrestrial network" and a three-dimensional, dynamic, and reconfigurable new space-terrestrial interconnection mechanism. In terms of architecture, based on the layered model of the Internet protocol, I designed a topology discovery sub-layer that supports "out-of-band" management. Based on the IPv6 protocol, I creatively proposed a network collaborative addressing and addressing method combined with geographic location. Using the mobile characteristics of satellites "broadcasting while moving", I designed a space-terrestrial collaborative "space-cloud distribution system". I have developed a simulation testbed for the Integrated Space-Terrestrial Network, which has the ability to demonstrate and verify the Integrated Space-Terrestrial Network in a real operating network environment. As a core member of the editorial board, I actively participated in the writing of the project proposal and implementation plan for the national major project "Integrated Space-Terrestrial Information Network" of "Science and Technology Innovation 2030". The proposed networking architecture has been directly adopted in the demonstration of national major project proposals. I have undertaken and been responsible for a number of national related strategic topics and major special projects, and the scientific and technological achievements have been successfully applied in the first-phase project of the Laishui Integrated Space-Terrestrial Information Network Technology Innovation Facility and the "Demonstration Concept System" of the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation. I have taken the lead in promoting the international standardization of the Integrated Space-Terrestrial Network, submitting 2 IETF standard drafts and 2 project proposals to the ITU SG11 and SG13 working groups. I have published many papers in core journals and international conferences.

2. Research on the architecture of the future mobile Internet: I proposed a new and efficient future mobile Internet network architecture and its software-defined interface design (SDN+). Based on SAVI and 802.1x, I proposed a unified stateful and stateless IPv6 trusted address allocation method to achieve unified, efficient, and terminal-transparent trusted address allocation. I designed a trusted path management mechanism based on SRv6 extension to achieve trusted forwarding paths while protecting user privacy. It provides a foundation for the realization of integrated collaboration, real and credible, dynamic policies, and elastic service chains of future mobile communication network resources. I have undertaken and been responsible for a number of national major special projects, and the scientific and technological achievements have received high praise and have been successfully applied in the live network of China Telecom and the country's first "5G Ubiquitous Town" project in Xuchang. I have published a number of academic papers in core journals and international conferences, and have won one first prize from the China Communications Standards Association (ministerial level).

3. Research on the application platform of the future mobile Internet: Facing smart terminals and smart networks, integrating the major attributes of future mobile Internet applications, namely: location attribute, online attribute, social attribute, and access attribute (IPv4/v6; WiFi/3G/4G; trusted network/untrusted network), and using big data theory and methods, I have developed a number of representative next-generation mobile Internet applications and deployed them in the live network. I have undertaken and been responsible for a number of national major projects, and the scientific and technological achievements have received high praise and have been successfully applied in the live network of China Telecom. I have published many papers in core journals and international conferences, and the relevant achievements have been successfully applied in the live network of China Telecom, and I have won one second prize for the Electronic Information Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Institute of Electronics (ministerial level). The "At Tsinghua" campus mobile application platform developed by my student team has currently accumulated 210,000 downloads, and various applications have been used more than 100 million times. It has won the first prize in the campus category of the "Kylin Cup" National Basic Software Elite Competition, the first prize and the best algorithm award in the "Who is the Most V-er Product Development Competition" for national colleges and universities, and the first prize in the practice group of the first Next Generation Internet Technology Innovation Competition finals.

As the person in charge of the project or sub-project, I have successively undertaken a number of national major projects in the above fields, including: major special projects, core high-tech projects, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, key research and development plans, 863 Program, and science and technology support plans. I have published nearly 100 papers in domestic and foreign academic conferences and domestic core journals. I have applied for 21 national invention patents. I have won one special prize and one second prize from the Chinese Institute of Electronics, and one first prize from the China Communications Standards Association.
