Research Status

Research efforts primarily focus on the following domains: next-generation Internet architecture and security, Source Address Validation Architecture (SAVA) and key technologies, and network measurement.
In the field of source address validation: Co-proposed the Source Address Validation Architecture (SAVA) for the next-generation Internet. Promoted the establishment of the SAVI Working Group within the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). Authored RFC 5210, the first non-Informational category international standard from China in the IETF. Participated in all related national projects in this field from the 10th Five-Year Plan period to the 14th Five-Year Plan period, undertaking projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), sub-projects of national laboratories, and the National Key R&D Program. Received honors including the First Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the Special Prize of the Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE), the Top 10 Science and Technology Advances in Chinese Universities, and the First Prize of the Ministry of Education (MOE).
In the field of next-generation Internet architecture and security: Undertook projects commissioned by the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), designing security-related architectures for the next-generation Internet. Authored IPv6 security-related solutions and reports for entities such as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT/CC).Long-term instructor of the graduate course "Next-Generation Internet and Its Security". Co-authored the monograph "Next-Generation Internet".
In the field of network measurement: Focused research on IPv6 active address discovery, including: probe optimization in seed-rich areas, probe methodologies in seed-sparse areas and artificial intelligence (AI)-based probing techniques. Findings have been presented many times at conferences organized by the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC).
